Seto no Hanayome appears to be a harem anime where the harem consists solely of a mermaid who's the heiress to a yakuza family and a guy with an afro. It also has a giant octopus. I can think of no higher recommendation for an anime.

(Disclaimer: I do not know if I am recommending this anime, because I don't have any plans to see past the first two episodes. But doesn't it sound awesome?)

And of course I start watching Bleach again the week after the last Szayel episode before the filler arc. :| I watched it anyway, but mainly for Halibel and her hot Fracción. Mira Rose's voice is a thing of beauty. *_* Now, off to find the Szayel episodes on YouTube.

Also, I didn't think it was possible, but I may have found a Disney dub to rival Norwegian Tarzan: European Spanish Nightmare Before Christmas. I am seriously considering buying this CD. I haven't even seen the whole thing in English yet. :|

While we're on the subject, had an incredibly trippy Kingdom Hearts dream last night. I really need to lay off that game for a while.

So I've been playing Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days over the past few days, and I'm officially in love with Organization XIII. They're such a big screwy family, it's kind of adorable. E... except for when half of them died. Seriously, game? You're going to take the time for us to get to know all these characters, and then kill half of them out of nowhere? And it was the better half, too. D: *WRITES OT14 AU FIC*

On a somewhat related note, since basically everyone hits on Roxas at some point or another, I sort of have this idea where they're trying to figure out which one he's into and somehow or another it turns into a huge Organization-wide competition to win Roxas's heart. (Or, well... you know what I mean.) Marluxia brings him flowers, Demyx writes him a song, Larxene threatens him, etc. And Axel is the only one who wasn't let in on this and he has no idea what's going on. Yeah. Pretty much that is it.

Very little progress on NaNo. Maybe this weekend. Or maybe never! :D

Things that have made me ridiculously happy in the past 24 (more or less) hours:
- Hetalia Day 2009 with my dork friends
- Seeing the Astro Boy movie immediately afterward with said dork friends
- Szayel's dub voice fffffff
- The answer to the New York Times acrostic (if you've done it you'll know why)

Also, I have been playing Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia a whole lot lately. (And I still have to actually pay Momo for it at some point. ._.;;) I really like this game. It's not a "true" Pokémon game, sure, but it's gotten me to care about the storyline and characters more than any other Pokémon game's done. And the writing is hilarious. If any Pokémon fans out there are looking for something to occupy themselves while waiting for HG/SS, you could really do a lot worse.

My number one crossover OTP is Ken Ichijouji (Digimon)/Uryuu Ishida (Bleach), or as I like to call it, Kenshida. Which maaaay be entirely based on their having the same English voice actor. But they are so cute together sdjkdfsjk. I also ship Szayel Aporro Granz (Bleach)/Grell Sutcliff (Kuroshitsuji). Because... come on.

2) What is your favourite time of day?
I like the evening. The sky during or immediately following a sunset is really nice.

3) If you had the chance to travel time, how would you abuse it? If you chose to.
Oh god. I would probably not travel through time at all because I would be way too paranoid of causing time paradoxes. But that wouldn't stop me from going into the future. So I could totally go into the future and play with all the cool technology and see how people I know are like in the future. Also if I ever did get up the courage to go back in time, I would probably have torrid time travel romance with all sorts of hot historical figures. (Young!Byron, young!Brahms, Pierce, Yeats... :B) Or, you know, not.

4) If you could crossover a series, and have it officially made, what would the two series' be?
Similar to the pairing but this time series in general ;D

Okay, so, just learned something! Apparently the late great Tony Jay, voice of Frollo... was also the "We've got to have MONEY!" guy from the Tom and Jerry movie. I'm not sure I needed to know that. D:

Btw, if you ever need something to amuse yourself with for a bit, here is a shiny internet toy: Translation Party. Y'know, if you ever need an alternative to Babelfish or Lost in Translation. It translates your sentence from English to Japanese and back until it reaches equilibrium. Sadly, I couldn't get it to make me something sufficiently funny for an example. There was, however, this:

Seriously. I've just finished reading what's out so far, and it's amazing. Far and away the most realistic portrayal of transgenderism I've ever seen in manga. More people need to know about it.

(Although, even though there doesn't seem to be much in the way of an online fandom, there's surprisingly a crapton of good fanart over at DeviantART. Which is awesome.)

...And by good I apparently mean whining about Shonen Jump. Eh, close enough.

So, SPHFWLKaiB finally showed up in Bleach. You can probably imagine my reaction. But. Butbutbut. They spelled his name as one word - Szayelaporro, like that. I know that's probably closer to the original, and since the speech bubbles are so narrow it shows up as hyphenated anyway, which is almost like two words. So I really have no reason to be upset about this. But idk, man, I just think it looks dumb. Some other spellings they have that bug me are "Nnoitora" (I know it's not that different, but still) and (are you ready for this one?) "Cirucci Sanderwicci". Sanderwicci? What is she, a BLT? Dude, "Thunderwitch" is possibly the coolest last name ever. You can't screw that up. D: You know what, I think I am just going to be one of those people I hate who ignores canon and spells people's names however she darn well pleases. Like heck I'm giving up "Thunderwitch".

While I'm here, I suppose I should say something briefly about the other mangas in Shonen Jump. Because I can.

Naruto: I really like how Naruto calls Yondaime "Pa". They could have gone with "Dad" so easily, but I like "Pa" better. It gives him character. And it's cute. Pain was a cute kid.

One Piece: Nami/Vivi is so canon. ~~Mr. 2~~ Bon-chan is amazing.

Ultimo: O.A. must love this series. There is no way Jealousy is a boy.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Natsume is surprisingly attractive. I like seeing all those people from forever ago.

Tegami Bachi: I would probably like this series better if the people didn't have such stupid names. Two words: Jiggy Pepper. Niche makes it worth reading, though. She's great. Also I like the term "Letter Bee". Reminds me of Smellerbee. Or Linda Ellerbee.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: I don't care.

Also I am going to see Wicked tonight yay.

Speaking of Disney movies (we were doing that, right?): I know I'm a loser who only saw about four* of them during her childhood proper, and it's really sad that it took me until yesterday to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But dang, that is a good movie. I think it just elbowed its way right in there under The Lion King as one of my favorite Disney movies. I mean, the music alone is excellent, but then you add in the characters and the plot and everything, and, wow. Suffice it to say that it's becoming my latest short-term obsession. And I need to acquire the soundtrack. OF COURSE I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU GUYS THIS STUFF THOUGH BECAUSE YOU ALL HAD NORMAL CHILDHOODS. 8D (Although I have no idea how this movie got away with a G rating. IMO some of the stuff it deals with really isn't for kids. Which, y'know, is part of why I like it. But anyway.)

* Three if you don't count The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as an actual movie.

Also, since I may not get a chance to post something later, I'm leaving again tomorrow for vacation. I'll be back next Tuesday. And then school starts. =_=

Having begun reading T.H. White's The Once and Future King, I finally realize that Dan Dreiberg was not just being a Disney geek when he named his ship Archimedes. But that will still be my headcanon. Because Dan is totally enough of a dork to do that. (The book is quite good, by the way, and a classic. Just putting that out there.)

I really need to watch The Sword in the Stone sometime. Some kind soul's uploaded it to YouTube, so I don't suppose I have an excuse.

Ponyo's hot dad is so hot that my bookmark folder for him contains only 8 fewer pages than my one for SPHFWLKaiB. Which is quite a feat. Although I don't generally go specifically looking for pictures of SPHFWLKaiB, and there are a lot more likely to be multiple pictures of him to a page. So I guess it's not that impressive. And yes, I know I am probably the only person who thinks Ponyo's hot dad is hot. Whatever. He has nice hair.

Still don't have anything to post. I was going to craft a humorous writeup of our group's first D&D session a week ago, but then I remembered that I can't write. So the condensed version is, we had a cleric with no common sense (who ended up being the party's tank), a wizard who didn't know anything, a bard with terrible social skills (though at least she could find north), and a monk who didn't really do much of anything. And a DM who had to put up with our stupidity. Also we were fighting Missingno cultists. Which is kind of awesome.
